1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GoalSplitter ("the Service"), operated by GoalSplitter ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GoalSplitter is an AI-powered weekly life-balance planner available at goalsplitter.com and app.goalsplitter.com. The Service allows users to create life categories, set time allocations, manage projects and habits, and generate balanced weekly schedules with the assistance of AI.

3. Accounts

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

4. Free and Paid Tiers

4.1 Free Tier

The free tier provides access to core planning features, including up to 3 life categories, manual weekly scheduling, drag-and-drop planning, and habit tracking. The free tier is available indefinitely at no cost.

4.2 Pro Tier

The Pro tier provides additional features including AI task generation, smart auto-scheduling, unlimited categories, weekly AI insights, and priority support. Pro tier pricing is displayed on our pricing page and may be billed monthly or annually.

4.3 Billing and Cancellation

Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will revert to the free tier. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.

4.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will apply at the start of your next billing period after the change takes effect.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any laws; attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service; use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our permission; use the AI features to generate harmful, abusive, or misleading content; share your account credentials with others; or impersonate another person or entity.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create within the Service, including categories, projects, tasks, habits, schedules, and any text you write. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

6.2 Our Service

The Service, including its design, code, features, algorithms, documentation, and branding, is owned by GoalSplitter and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written permission.

6.3 AI-Generated Content

Content generated by the AI features (task suggestions, schedule insights, chat responses) is provided as suggestions for your use. You are free to use, modify, or discard AI-generated content within the Service. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content. You are responsible for reviewing and validating any AI-generated content before relying on it.

7. AI Features Disclaimer

The AI features of GoalSplitter are powered by third-party AI models (currently Anthropic's Claude). While we strive to provide helpful and accurate AI suggestions, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. The AI features are provided "as is" and should not be relied upon as professional advice for health, financial, legal, or other specialized decisions.

By using AI features, you acknowledge that relevant context from your account (category names, project titles, task descriptions, schedule data) will be sent to our AI provider for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@goalsplitter.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if your use of the Service poses a risk to other users or to the Service itself. We will provide notice of termination when reasonably possible.

Upon account deletion or termination, all your data will be deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoalSplitter and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GoalSplitter and its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which GoalSplitter operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
